So a big halogen, in a white paper box...

I'm sad I do not have any macro....

PS : Canon 5d with 24-70 2.8 L.... So quite good camera...

By the way, i love your 5712..

It's in my wishlist... (which is quite long..)

Nautilus vs Aquanaut......

 By: MiniCooper : January 9th, 2010-13:00
Hi... which of the two would you prefer? Granted, there is a price difference but they are the two sport watches by PP.... Thanks..... Cheers

None of them...

 By: mac_omega : January 9th, 2010-13:57
as the so called "sports watches" of PP have been an error in the PP product line... IMHO It is a clumsy effort to also provide sports watches - which are not "real Pateks" concerning the aesthetics They are not my taste!   I know that there are quite a f...

Not to offend either...

 By: Duke2Earl : January 10th, 2010-11:14
I am afraid I simply do not understand why it is necessary to be a dress watch in order to be a "real" Patek. I personally do not live a daily life that is really compatible with a dress watch. Must I be foreclosed from Patek quality? No offense meant. Gl...

Aquanaut for case design and dial.

 By: joeyza : January 9th, 2010-16:40
I would have pulled the trigger long ago if the hands weren't so clumsy on the Aquanaut.

The Aquanaut is so comfortable

 By: tourbillon001 : January 9th, 2010-17:04
and low key with the rubber strap that I find it much nicer to wear although I love the 5712 in rose gold. In a perfect world PP would make the 5712 in SS on a rubber strap with a ceramic bezel. I would be first in line

Very true..

 By: MiniCooper : January 10th, 2010-11:48
the Aquanaut is very comfortable to wear.... Cheers

Why....

 By: MiniCooper : January 10th, 2010-11:52
would you say that the hands are clumsy? Cheers

It's a matter of personal taste

 By: joeyza : January 11th, 2010-18:56
The watch has an interesting case and dial design. The stick hands seem like an after thought. I hope that this is not offensive to anyone. As stated, I like this watch and would like to own one, once I get past my issues with the hands. Cheers Joe

Aquanaut

 By: captain-winters : January 9th, 2010-20:19
Aquanaut is my vote, especially with the synthetic strap, very comfortable, comparison with my IWC XII below. This message has been edited by captain-winters on 2010-01-09 20:27:50...

Thank you.....

You must wear it to feel the comfort...

I have tried on....

 By: MiniCooper : January 10th, 2010-11:55
and it is quite comfortable... I think, though, that the Aquanaut is even more comfortable.... Cheers

The both

 By: nikolo FR : January 10th, 2010-00:40
There both are aliens in the PP collection... There really so comfortable.. The steel strap are amazing, so comfortable.. and the caoutchouc is perfect for summer... Very thin pieces compared to other diving watches (Sub, 50, ....). So many people disagre...

Wow, Terrific pic, Nikolo

And I agree with your thoughts.... Cheers

Well, I'm totally biased.

 By: amanico : January 10th, 2010-01:06
I love a lot its weird look, typical of the 70ies: But, as with the Aquanaut, I don't see myself practicing any sport with. I would be too afraid with the Micro rotor and the scratch catching bezel. In both cases, lovely watches! Best, Nicolas...

Gorgeous watch....

 By: MiniCooper : January 10th, 2010-12:02
is it yours? Cheers

Yep...I never put watches which don't belong to me on an Italian Roof.

I'm frankly delighted that Philippe Stern had the b@lls to ignore all they naysayers back in 1976 and launch the Nautlius liine. Without doing something like that to challenge the status quo Patek would have become like Cadillac and Buick - appealing to h...

i had the opportunity to choose and went for the 5711. that said, the aquanaut is beautiful too. i disagree with previous post where he/she doesn't consider these two models as pateks. i am not sure this is in line with the company's ethos. all watches be...

Tough choice...

I also vote for both...

 By: Duke2Earl : January 10th, 2010-11:04
I have a 5711J and a 5167/1a. Although similar they are vastly different in practice... gold case, white dial on a leather band as opposed to stainless steel, black(Ish) dial on a bracelet. I love them both. It's a lifestyle and taste choice. I have basic...

Nautilus without any doubt.

 By: foversta : January 10th, 2010-12:55
For me, the Aquanaut is just a "missed" evolution of the Nautilus even if the latest version has improved it a lot. Fr.Xavier
