Here it is

Here is what I found so far:

A hot new watch from Patek Philippe, presented at BaselWorld 2014, is the new Nautilus Travel Time Chronograph 5990/1A featuring a column-wheel flyback chronograph and dual-time.

The design of the 40.5mm diameter stainless steel case has been slightly updated and it is characterised by the two chronograph pushers at 2 and 4 o’clock for the chronograph functions and the two push correctors at 9 o'clock for aligning the local time hand, either forward or backward, in 1-hour increments. The home-time hour hand is skeletonized.

The dial maintains the typical Nautilus decoration with horizontal embossing. At 3 and 9 o’clock we find day and night indicators for local and home time respectively.  Two are the subdials: a circular date scale at 12 o’clock and the chronograph 60-minute counter at 6 o'clock within which is placed - quite unusually - the Patek Philippe logo. The gold hands and the applied hour markers are treated with luminescent coating.

The brushed and polished case of the new Nautilus 5990/1A houses a brand new calibre visible through the sapphire crystal case back, the self-winding CH 28-520 with a 45-hour power reserve.

The Patek Philippe Nautilus 5990/1A replaces the reference 5980/1A and will have a retail price of US$ 57,300.

Hi, I've never heard of a 5990! The 5971 should perhaps have been named 5990 though, but that's not the case. Cheers Dje

There is no rush. We are fortunate to have a number of moderators and purists on the ground reporting live, with their own pictures and own words. Let's leave it to them. Dean
