The asking for the 3940 has really shot up but whether a lot of these are actually moving is another thing. Many are over polished watch only pieces not collectors set by any stretch. The desirable ones are first series or second series unpolished condition cases and thick lugs. Even better if comes with full set including old crumbly box and the watch winder.

It’s very hard to find a good example on an early series that’s complete for less than 80-90k USD these days. Whether they are moving is a different story.

Thanks, how would you check the dial? I checked on forums and I think that for being a 2005 3rd series, it has all the required features (San serif,Swiss aligned)

A typical problem with many 3940 subdials. Those without the problem have a higher value - and will most likely be more desirable in the future as well.
