True watch lovers wait to get their piece from an AD. Paying way over the premium to a dealer (most likely in cash) is the perfect way to hide the money. Properties are too risky and obvious, plus all the upkeeps. In some respect the ever increase of the price in the grey market is devaluing these wonderful pieces for me.

I personally waited a lot of time to get I.e. my first Daytona (way back in late 1992) and even more for the 2 Pateks I bought from my AD. I'd never pay a 60% premium for any watch...

I agree, Nautilus is today a status symbol, also because the so-called intrinsical value is not different - if not lower - from other top time pieces (I.e. a 5711 commands far higher prices than a 3940j)

I love the 5712 for the complications and in fact I loved its predecessor 5085. I am a big fan of cal 240, indeed, which Patek is celebrating these days
