I had the real pleasure of seeing a very distictive and unique Octo Calendrier the other day. The watch has been produced by Montres Journe in a series of one, yes one, to mark the tenth anniversary of the establishment of their representatitve here in London, William & Son. (dear moderator - I hope it's ok to mention the name in this context) The main difference, dial side, to the standard watch is the blued steel date ring and the chapter ring framing the time dial. This is, it could be argued, a relatively small change but in my opinion it really makes a big difference to the watch. I think it looks fantastic and only wish I could have captured that lovely blue finish better in the photos. It's subtle but effective - although I have to confess that blue is my favourite colour and I do have a liking for blued steel. Blue is William & Son's corporate colour and features on all their publicity material, cards etc - hence the choice to emphasise this through it's more extensive use than usual where it's limited to the hands. The other main difference is the rotor on the rear of the watch which, instead of the usual engine turned finish is this time polished and has the distinctive engraving marking the 10 years of the dealer. This is certainly a very special interpretation of an already amazing watch. Now...where did I put that lottery ticket!!

It's certainly a great iteration of an already attractive watch.  I love the blue and white date display.  Truly a handsome timepiece.  I like it a lot!

Really like the contrast of white days of the week agains the blue. Very distinctive. Thanks for posting the photo! While it's a piece unique now we can all share!!!

Do you know whether they intend to hold onto the piece themselves, or sell it to one of their most loyal customers?

I don't know what their plans are for the watch and am not sure they do yet either - I will of course let you know if/when I hear.

They are a retailer after all so it's their business to sell things, BUT having said that William Asprey (the owner of the shop) is a connoiseur and collector. I certainly think I'd struggle to decide in their shoes!
