F.P. Journe

When i first heard market chats that FP Journe would be setting up its boutique in Singapore a while ago, i was pleased and excited.   Indeed, it was even said that its shop would be located at the Mandarin Hotel in Orchard Road.   In recent weeks, it has been rumoured that this is no longer the case and that FP Journe's would still be distributed via Sincere outlets here.  Would anybody be able to shed further light on this, and verify what the actual status might be? 

It would no doubt be very disappointing if FP Journe gives Singapore a miss.

F.P.Journe indeed is going to give Singapore a miss for the time being.

I do not know for sure the reason.

I'm sure that the global recession has had an impact.  Many businesses had grand expansion and growth plans.  The world has changed...

But the cocktail seems to be still flowing...enjoy it while it lasts....

Doubtless the recession has something to do with it.  Perhaps Singapore's smaller 4m population has something to do with it too (still, it has always beaten well above its weight).   If FP is truly giving Singapore a miss, it is disappointing indeed.

I think MR Journe had other reason rather than the population in singapore,that He  is not opening a boutique here................

Singapore has reputation for giving customers preferential pricing. Wonder if the boutiques no discount policy would have been well received.

As far as I know is that, 'Sincere'  in Kuala Lumpur has stopped carrying FP Journe given that fact that there is a boutique opening up in the region and the aim was to sell future FP Journe pieces through the boutique eventually. But since the plan for the boutique was called off, the plan to continue selling Journe pieces is still currently put on hold. Not sure why. Absolutely no FPJ watches on display.

'Sincere' in Singapore, on the other hand, still continues to carry FP Journe as I was told, and still on display in selected stores (?), I know Takashimaya branch still has a small display for FPJ.
But I am not sure if Sincere will continue to bring in more pieces in the future as I have noticed a trend on the limited availability and variety of Journe watches this past year.
It would be really disappointing if Sincere will not be bringing in more FP Journe pieces and in greater disappointment, the boutique's plan in Singapore will no longer be realised.
