F.P. Journe

I'm having opportunity to snap up Octa Divine and RM005 (standard-- not FM edition) from a close friend. Both preowned in platinum cases and having relatively similar offer price.

These two watches fit perfectly on my wrist and I LOVE them both but as usual can afford only one. I have not owned any of these brands before so having a hard time deciding which way to go.

I work mostly in office environment and the winning choice will become my daily watch.

Now may I ask your suggestion and view as to what would be a better choice considering value for the money and horological factor?

I knew I can't go wrong with either but would appreciate hearing view and suggestion from you owners and experts.

This decision making process is way over my head and I'm willing to learn.

Journe would be my choice but of course I'm biased. However I would consider the chronometer souveraine or Octa Automatique in addition to the Octa Divine. While the RM is a fun watch I personally wouldn't want it to be my daily piece. Journe works equally casual or at work. While RM is uses all state of the art materials, Journe is really a modern day watch genius. Just spend some time reading through some special reports and you will soon see that his contributions to horology put him in a league not matched by many.

I have both and wear both at work and on weekends. I wear my Journes almost every day and when I don't I miss them. In fact ,with the exception of the Grande Sonnerie, all Journe watches work in almost every situation you may encounter. Best of all, you are wearing a unique design by the Master who is in the  league of the greatest creators in horological history. Buy one and you will be hooked for life.  I am.
