Is it possible to change the date and day independently? I checked the little manual and it seems to indicate that it can be done, but when I tried, both moved together. Thanks for your help, guys.

If you pull the crown out one notch, depending on which direction you turn the crown you will either move the date/day together, but if you turn it in the other direction you will only move the day.  Off the top of my head I forget which direction is which and I don't want to wake the wife up to go get my watch out of the bedroom, but essentially depends which direction you turn the crown.

I pulled out the crown one notch, and turned it in the direction that the manual says to change the date, but both moved together. When I then turned the crown the other way as per the manual, the day moved up one day, then kept repeating itself.

By turning the crown forward you can change the Day (ie Mon, Tues, Wed... ) independently. Once you match up the correct Day with the Date you can then turn the crown backward to advance the Day and Date simultaneously. Hope that helps.

When I turn the crown counter-clockwise, the day and date change simultaneously. They will not change independently, regardless of what I say to the watch. When I turn the crown clockwise, the day doesn't advance; it just keeps repeating itself. So, due to my trying to do this, the watch is now set to Monday, March 28, which is meaningless, and I'm concerned that if I continue to play with it, it will go into April. At that point, I'll just have to put the watch down and not wear it for a few weeks, because I don't believe you can change the months independently either.  Apparently, this watch has a problem. Again.

Pull the crown to second position and advance the time past midnight until about 6am. The day and date should have also advanced. Now reset the crown and pull out one position and advance clockwise. Does the day (ie sun, mon) change independently of the date now?

I did what you suggested. The day advances one day, then it starts repeating. I've tried several things, but it's not working as it should. Looks like another 3-month hospital trip.

Never good to hear. Remaining positive as I always do let me say this.... upon return after 3 months it will feel like you purchased a new watch. What's 3 months compared to a lifetime.

I'm absolutely positive that this watch will go back into repair again.

With much patience and soft coaxing, I managed to get the calendar back on line, advancing a year to the current date. I hope the Calendrier will be back on line now. I don't know how it went off track.
