Some of you may remember this but I noticed something interesting about this Ruthenium Resonance. Before you say the second hands are not in sync, that is true but not what I'm referring to. Something else is different. Check out a before and after photo's. IMHO I was very happy with the change. What do you think?

I've been staring at it for 5 minutes and other than the hour, minute, seconds hands being different, I can only see that the screws have been turned.

I can't totally tell from the lighting, but are the screws before matte finish while the screws in after polished?

It's a subtle difference that is not completely obvious from the photo's but certainly more distinquishable in person. As a hint.. focus on the the subdials.

The guilloche in the seconds sub-dials seems to be confined to the center in the before while it appears to be complete in the after.

Exactly!  While the photos aren't the best... the right subdial had much thinner numbers.  This is caused by different amounts of pressure that may have been applied.  In fact, the subdial was eventually switched to better match the left subdial. 

Win something?  Sure why not!  I'm in Geneva next week and I will pick up some FPJ goodies and send to our previous winners and our new one!

Just curious, was the dial switch done under warranty and how long did it take? It's great to know that FPJ accomodates their customers' requests even regarding the small details!

FPJ was extremely accomodative and offered to switch the subdial without charge.  It took a few months.  Worth the wait! 

with the best of my ability and imagination, maybe I could "see" this, but isn't that the whole raison d’être of hand-made?


Now, I'll have to go find my Resonance to see if it's there as well.....

In person the difference was quite noticeable.  IMHO it affected the balance. Thick font, thin font. At first I thought oh.. .this is really unique.  but after a few weeks I decided to discuss with Montres Journe and in the end find a better match.

Shorter in the second example to directly underline the hours remaining vs. longer in the first example.  Of course, I could be wrong as my wife and children often point out...

I wasn't sure if it could be the lighting, but...it appears that the hobnail background of the main dials is turned 90 degrees.
