What is the quality of diamonds used in Cartier watches?
While shopping for a watch with diamonds, I was naturally drawn to Cartier. I wear their watches & assumed Cartier would use the best quality, but have heard otherwise. Can anyone confirm what quality is used? I was surprised & impressed to learn that Rolex only uses flawless diamonds in their timepieces. Am hoping that Cartier does as well or if not, what is the reason? Thanks.
They are of top quality though there are variations across the lines
According to Cartier, their watches use diamonds ranging fom VVS to IF. Typically, FL or IF diamonds are used in the top of the line high jewellery watches while VVS diamonds are used for other jewellery watches.
In terms of colour, the diamonds are usually D, E, F and G, with the higher grade stones being used for high jewellery watches.

I am supposed to pick up my watch this weekend but started to get a little nervous that Rolex used higher quality diamonds than Cartier. But after trying on both the Rolex & Cartier, the elegance of the Cartier & the fire of the stones made my decision pretty easy. Thanks again for your help!
