Very versatile, especially with the quick change of straps. As far as I know you must use Cartier straps, but they have quite a few to choose from! I do not think it will get old quickly because it is common. A Rolex Submariner or Omega Moonwatch do not feel old - and they are quite common. The base design for the Santos is from 1904 - and it does not feel old now - IMO.
Hello all, I have been toying with the idea
of getting a steel Cartier Santos. I think I would opt for the medium size without the date. Do you think it's such a common watch that it get old quickly? I've seen many on the forum that people really love and they look great. I am especially interested in being able to change the straps with the quick change but I do not know where to get them that fit that system.
Any advice or help would be most appreciated. I respect very much the opinions of the people on this forum.

But to come to the point, i am also an investigator when it comes with custom release systems without a common standard.
The Baume & Mercier Riviera Azur is for a long time on my wishlist, but it have like the Cartier a custom release system, so a hell to find a replacement strap when the strap that comes with the watch reach end of live.
An option i thought about is to take a model that comes also with a bracelet, than you can always wear the watch when the rubber or leather strap worn out.

I find it superb. Definitely the one I wear the most.

The Santos is a easy watch to thoroughly enjoy.
Plenty of high quality straps available from Cartier.
I think you will thoroughly enjoy it — the vibe, the size! I have two Cartier’s — a Tank Francaise and a Santos Dumont and I love them! Never bored!

I absolutely love it, even though I think that the bracelet is so good that I would never swap it out for a strap. If you want to experiment though you can either buy OEM cartier straps or delugs straps made for it
