When you are able to gather two fantastic micro-rotors calibers, the 1208P and the 240, you don't have to miss the pictures !

I prefer the Piaget (No, not because I'm the Piaget mod!), because the movement design seems more exuberant.  I think micro-rotors are awesome!

not because I am  now a Piaget moderator.  Even before that, none of my PP watches have the cal 240 movement.

The "big" reason to choose a Piaget 1208P (or 1200P is even better) now is actually a small reason......they are really ultra-thin. 

Surely the raison d'etre for a Piaget Altiplano Automatic is precisely that....most flat automatic movement and case in production today!

quite a feat to design a micro-rotor with thinness in mind.....

Piaget and Patek Philippe were the first brands to introduce micro-rotors into their watches about fifty years ago. Personally, I am a tremendous fan of micro-rotor endowed watches and the Patek Philippe 240 caliber is one of my favorites.

Thank you for the comparison photos of these two beautiful movements. I would say that it seems that the 240 has slightly higher movement finishing than the 1208P. Specifically, I am citing the bevelled jewel holes, which is all I an see from the photos.

It took Piaget 50years to perfect the micro-rotor. Patek got it right the first time. Enough said.
