New Grand Seiko SBGR079 anti magnetic - my new watch for 2018 !

And i love it. I have long searched for a model to match my preferences, like a dial with depth and applied markers, and found the dressier models less to my liking. I was already convinced by many reports here on the quality and finishing so i decided my next watch should be this one, SBGR079.
The dial is awesomely deep black, a laquar like glow but not shiny, and the hour markers are jumping off the dial. It is super legible even for my me without reading glasses. Love the red accents and white outer cirkel. Mostly brushed case and fully brushed bracelet as i dont like shiny polished to much. I feel it is very high quality watch bang for buck.
It is big and heavy ( 170 gr) so in cars terms it is a Big Block v8, plus Hemi and blowers. As i am usually IWC minded this is quite a different piece for me but already loving it on the wrist. Hope you like the pictures too!
I was so close to buying this one, in the end the thickness put me off in this particular case. However, I still really love this watch. Your beautiful pictures are making me reconsider my decision!
Thanks Harry2, it was very hard to find a good one, new only via Boutique`s i think. It is a `Big Block` but for me that does fit its purpose as a tool watch. [nt]
It’s a brilliant watch. I have mostly thick watches, so when I tried it on I thought I like it but if I’m going to get another watch it will need to be thinner. I think this GS is the best quality watch of recent times that has a soft iron case. The quality of GS is just unbeatable until you get into much higher price points. This will serve you well in all situations for many years.
Nice one too Cazalea ! I was looking for a date window on mine, 40.000 A/m seems enough as well. I think i have an extra inner shield as the back is thicker.

I want to open it up but my wrench does not go wide enough to fi the back..... cheap wrench ! The standard 9S65 does have the Spron spring and as far as i know no special anti magnetic material so it must be the extra shield. I ll find a way to open it and shoot some pics for later.
edit: you have that wonderful `chequer board dial` with the lion symbol ? Very special !
Much obliged Ken, tnx for the nice comment ! It is a Big Boy but it is with reason and i figured if i can handle 44mm Aquatimer this would also fit. Never tried it on before so it was a bit of gamble but was already in love with the pictures before. [nt]
