First Rolex?

I am contemplating my first Rolex and cant seem to decide on which one.
Rolex Daytona 116520 Black dial
or
Rolex Milgauss 116400GV Green
Any help. advise. inputs would be appreciated.

Honestly, those are two nice watches..... but very different in style.

The Milgauss is a very quirky watch. I get great pleasure wearing mine...BUT....it is not a watch I would wear every day. The Dayto, on the other hand, would be much easier to wear every day for me... 

Some questions....

1) Have you tried both on the wrist...and if so did one call out more than the other?

2) You have chosen one with a chrono and one with an ant-magnetic capacity....do you need/use these functions specifically?

3) Do you intend to wear this watch every day?

I'd love to have that decision to make because I just can't see a mistake either way. Both watches are winners.

1. Tried both on. The GV has a nice green and orange combo that I have rarely seen anywhere else; and I have a soft spot for central seconds hand. But I always felt that they Daytona is the summit for  Rolex. When I tried on the Daytona, it glows and shine vividly. Hard to explain.
2. I think the chrono function of the daytona is a plus, but i wont be using it much, I reckon. This will probably be my daily wear.
3. And like mentioned above, Yes, I will try to wear this often.

Well, I would go for the Rasta Milgauss, or for the Zenith Dayto, personally, but you can't go wrong, here.

As far as I am concerned everyone has a Daytona.

The Milgauss with the GV is far more exclusive.

I wear mine on a regular basis and to the office.

This having been said I might one day get myself a Daytona.

Whatever choice you make will be the right one. Great position to be in.

I can wear it in the office without problems.  I really need a new chrono, and seriously, how could I not go for the Daytona?  There's got to be a reason, but I just can't buy one yet.  Dunno, but I'd like to see a SS steel chrono with the ceramic bezel. 

I own fancy watches, but Rolex is where my heart is.  Milgauss GV rocks and so does the new GMT Ceramic.

Glorygunners, you can't really go wrong with any Rolex.  Enjoy.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

If not a Zenithed Daytona, I would first go for a Milgauss...

If you do travel often (airports etc...) then the Milgauss will be my first choice.  Because although many say that the induction is not sufficient, on occasions, perhaps coincidently, I experienced some problems with a couple of my watches.  Easy to sort it out, but annoying when it happens.

 

If you are more sport oriented and require timing some events, then the Daytona is the way to go.  Personally I would buy and rebuy a Zenithed Daytona because I dislike the dial layout of the Rolexed Daytona, but that’s me.

 

Now, what about the simpler and modest Submariner? In most if not all occasions, you will always be guaranteed to be waterproofed, and you will be a champ when on the beach.

 

I agree with I think ‘Fernando’, when going Rolex, the fun  begins ;-)

I have not owned a Daytona as I prefer the Speedmasters and have a couple (Apollo 35 for the panda look).  But I did own the Milgauss for a while.

In the end, while I liked the style, I felt the watch was too thick and the lead cage was unnecessary. The lightening is fun and the lume is good. Plus it's not the traditional color. Another plus. 

I recently got the new Explorer 1 to fill the gap. Enjoy the similar size but additional wearability.
