Let's make a game, a kind of 1665 DRSD census ........... and let see what happen. In my opinion - in the vintage environment AFTER the gilt period - 1665 double red is the most fascinating watch, MK3 in the thick case range and MK1 and 2 in the thin case range, but also a MK4 is always a wonderful watch to wear, solid and strong. This is my DR turned chocolate brown, thin case and 2,9xx serial. Let's see the others.

thin case, first owner, fully documented....

I still have to find 3 more references to close my Vintage Rolex Collection, and the DRSD is one of them.

MK II ( thin case ) or MK III ( big case ), with a slight prefence for the MK II.

The patina on yours is crazy. I love it a lot, and this is exactly what I'm looking for.

For the moment, I only have a 666, which I love a lot, but definitely, I will give it  a DRSD sister.

Although I remain convinced that the PN is the coolest watch in the world. the DRSD on the wrist is a sight to behold.....such presence. I think if i had to choose just two watches from all my Rolex, it would be my 6239PN and one of my DRSD.....

This one is 4.1 mil around 1974.  The red letters are thin and not so strong on the red.  So  MKIII. 

A friend of mine got this one from the original owner nicely documented.

Here is my MK3 sitting next to her sister the Rail--Lele my friend--this one is for you if you are out there! Both of these have great provenance and are complete sets missing nothing as the day they were bought from AD!  Have a great weekend all!!

 

I' m more and more thinking about adding 2 SDs in my collection...

A DRSD, preferably MK II, but why not MK III, and, AND a Rail Dial.

To have the pleasure to get the 3 " infernal " SDs, as I already own the Triple 6.
