Here the pic. Need you advice friends.

1. I ask rolex service center and they say I can't do service on my watch. According to them this is a regulation from Geneva if the watch is rare and discontinued. They not allow to touch it

2. My movement is dry from what they inspect. What should I do?

3. If I don't wear the watch will it get dryer or the more I use it will it get dryer? I'm planning to buy scatola to make the watch keep moving.

Rolex doesn't service a watch which is 30 years old.

The problem with a dry movement is that you may ruin its parts if you let it run.

So, avoid these watch winders, and find a watch maker which will be able to service it, which may not be too difficult.

Noted no watch winder. The movement is working well. If I wears daily it shouldn't be a problem rite nic? Cause I'm new to this vintage thing. Do you recommend to sell this and buy a newer version.

Also they said if the watch is dead and no part to replace it's going to be a useless watch.

FYI love this watch though but don't know how many years this can last.

But if you love it, looking for a good watchmaker can be THE solution.

Yes, it can, but you will dammage the parts of the movement.

I am a certified swiss trained watchmaker and I work on lots of vintage Rolex. Your watch will need a professional cleaning and oiling. From your description it sounds as though the watch is running, which is a very good sign. However, I recommend that you do not allow the watch to run until you have a watchmaker clean and oil it, because the parts will be damaged by running while dry and dirty. at the moment this watch is working very well. but according to rolex it need oil. i only wears it 3 times a week. what is your opinion? should i do the service now? seem all still working well hehehehehe
