Elegance versus powerful look.
Both are very different Subs, with their own personality.
I thought hard about them, and I came to the conclusion that I have to get both.
But I wouldn't let go my 5508 for a big crown, I just understood that I had to get both of them.
Vintage Rolexes, or when madness is my kingdom...

sometimes its not clear which one is right until you have lived with them. Only after living with them, do you realise that one has an edge. Its a bit like living with a girlfriend before getting married.... if your girtlfriend has loads of intolerable habits but you still want to live with her, then she becomes wife material. And that is why you had to have both...to live with them.
For me, it is also about the variation. Sometimes, i just want to wear a Big Crown....nothing else will do. Other times, the sleeker variety is what i want.
Both. Like i said, the word "or" needs to be abolished and replaced in all instancs with the word "and".
Both beautiful.
Hopefully soon, " AND " will replace " OR ".
Best,
Nicolas.
As a rookie in the vintage Rolex world I am quite confused between all the versions of the same watch, Subs, Sea Dwellers, GMTs...anyway both very ice!

..a Submariner should be differentiated from the rest of Rolex non-sports range which are already certified 100m depth but i guess during that period, a 100m depth is seen to be an achievement, correct me if i am wrong.. From the pics, clearly the 200m big crown appears to be thicker and larger in most aspects. I guess having a bigger crown do serve its purpose to facilitate crown lock with rubber ring to ensure 200m depth?
