A creamy Nato, whic almost matches with the patina of the indexes.

In my opinion, the next best thing after the bracelet.



I love this last picture, where the light focuses on the crown:



While the bracelet is more neutral, this Nato gives a nice touch of warmth, and enhances the charm of these indexes.

That's the beauty of Natos. It comes in such varieties.
But in this case you've matched it perfectly.

That is indeed the fun to get Natos .. But in this case, this color is, IMO, the correct one.

this is  a stunning example of a GMT for any vintage fan and why not the Nato. Although I am usually not a big bracelet fan, I think on this watch the bracelet combo is the strongest, there is already so much going on on the dial, the bezel...

Other crazy idea, did you try a red nato?

And it represents a big advantage: It doesn't add any other color to an already colorful reference.

The problem with the Nato, in my opinion, is that you have, for these GMTs, an indisputable very limited choice.

In this case, I would only see black or creamy, like the one on the pics, while, on the Subs, for example, the choice is certainly wider.

So yes, I agree on the fact that this Nato is simply a temporary alternative, as the bracelet is the main solution, for me.

But, from time to time, the Nato is a fresh alternative.

That is a clever idea - if the patina is strong enough one can match the strap as well; I would not have thought of this!  Looks great and allows the reds/blues to remain very bold.  I think your choice here and with the Jardur (red highlights) are really great.

I always try to make the strap match with a part of the dial.

In the 2 examples you mentionned, it works, in my opinion,  very nicely.
