Dear all,

After a visit at the Rolex boutique of the Place Vendôme in Paris, I propose to share with you some pics I took. These 2010 novelties have been presented to the clients of the boutique for a few days. It is obviously a good way for them to judge the 2010 delivery before any order.

Please note that tomorrow will be the last day to see them.

I will dedicate one post per watch.

If you look at this Submariner as a stand alone watch, you don't feel major differences with the previous version. In fact, that's always the achievement from Rolex: a constant evolution without a revolution.

This new Submariner has a SS 904L case, a ceramic bezel, a glidelock clasp. Diameter is 40mm. Caliber is the 3135.

The case has thicker lugs but, maybe it is a bit contradictory, I consider that this new version of the Submariner is not more elegant (it is not the correct word) but more luxurious. You feel an improvement of the quality.

Green is the Rolex color... this Submariner is a good way to remind us this fact.

The most interesting point about this Submariner is the quality of its dial. It not not a "mere" green dial. It is a green gold dial: thanks to the materials used, the dial has superb shades of green. Sometimes, the dial sems to be almost dark, sometimes it has nice moiré effects. A joy for our eyes. Other features are similar to the Submariner date.

To be honest with you, I don't like green in a watch context. So I'm not seduced by this Submariner. But it is a much more subtil watch than the previous Submariner LV. A must see for any Rolex fan.

for these photos! While I love the maxi dial, I wasn't interested when I first saw the press kit, but with these wrist shots, I'll have to try them once they arrive at the AD!

I'm curious to see this new green Rolex in person.  Green is my favorite color, and I liked the previous anniversary Sub (the "Frogmariner" as some call it), but this watch is VERY green.  I think perhaps if the bezel wasn't also green, it might've worked better for me.  I will withhold final judgement until I see the watch in the metal!

So here it comes, the long awaited enlarge Explorer one !

I was very happy to see and to handle it: the case diameter (39mm) is perfect for my wrist and I like its slenderness.

The numerals are not luminous which is not a problem for me, I think it is a better option for the elegancy of the watch. Of course, some will regret the former numerals but on this larger dial, I prefer the new ones.

Caliber is the 3132 and the clasp is the Oysterlock with Easilink.

The pictured watch is a prototype, I don't know if the hands will be the definitive ones (I think that the hour hand is a bit too short) but maybe I'm wrong and that there is no doubt about this.

Nevertheless, I was seduced by the overall balance of the watch.

I ordered a 36mm a few weeks a go. I was wondering which one I would like the best, with your help I think some doubts have been clarified.

Hare are a few pics of this new version of the Platinum Day-Date.

The dial is the Glacier Blue with jeweled numerals.

Caliber is the 3155.

Here are several pics of this WG version of the Day Date II. I still don't like the fluted bezel but as always, the finishings are flawless. I find it a bit too large for its purpose but some will appreciate the 41mm diameter.

I'm not convinced by the New Sub.... mostly due to its larger lugs.

The maxi dial seems to be the rule, for osme years, now, and I quite like it.

To be seen in the flesh, before any definitive judgement, indeed, but the a priori is not favorable, let's say.

As for the Explo I, the " Jump " is size is really important, but it may be my favorite of this year.

Will try to see them all.

I think that the current trouble is that the set of hands used with the Prototype is the same, I believe, used for the 36mm version. I hope that the definitive watch will get its own hands. Or am I wrong ?

My 2c:

The new Sub with the larger lugs is, definitely, not for me.

I had, until few weeks back, a GMT IIC (it seems that the new Sub uses the same case) and it was not comfortable, no matter what I did.

Someday, who knows, they will regain their senses, just like Zenith (and others) did recently and release something perfect like it was the 5512/5513.

Thank you for the nicely taken pictures, which make me gain a much better impression of the Rolex novelties.

The new Sub LV looked really horribble on some of the pictures that I saw here, but with your pics it looks a bit more appealing.

But only a bit, I am afraid.

This larger case of all the new Rolex sport models make them look like Tudor watches and is also not really comfortable, as the post before has stated truly.

I tried a SG new GMT Master II on and felt it was just too heavy and with sharp (!) edges.

Alltough the clasp is improved, the dial has changed to the better and the usage of ceramic in the bezel upgrades the whole watch, but still it did not convince me.

The old Subs are also more wearable with a suit ( if you allow to combine a full steel watch with a suit ), in my opinion.
