Clearly such a choice is highly subjective but I would think the Deepsea is a bit more on the sport side than the Milgauss. While a standard sub seems to be able to do dual duty even in more dressy situations (purist views aside - just ask Ian Fleming), the Deepsea, due to its thickness may be less able in this regard and thus serve more for casual dress. I own the Deepsea and have not owned the Milgauss but although it is certainly not a dress watch, it does seem as if it might be more capable of bridging the two worlds a bit easier than the Deepsea. That being said, I find the Milgauss really does nothing for me aesthetically and have no interest in it while I really enjoy my Deepsea. Good luck with your decision.

Opinions pls - Milgauss vs Deepsea

New to this forum, but need some opinions/thoughts/advice. Am trying to decide between the black face/green crystal milgauss and the new deepsea. Will buy one of these from a friend, both are in perfect condition, etc etc, but was wondering about other watch owners thoughts between the two. To be honest, I feel a little weird buying such a technically innovative watch like the Deepsea, especially as I'm not much of a water person (maybe take a dip in the pool every now and then, but that's about it), but I guess the same could be said about the milgauss (not planning any trips to any powerplants, haha). Aesthetically, I guess I kinda like the green crystal on the milgauss as it seems a little subversive (especially for rolex), but the deepsea feels like a solid solid watch. HELP please! I like both a lot, but can't figure out which one i prefer!

Depends on your use
As an owner of both, I would say that it would really depend on the use of the watch. The Deapsea is a neat piece, but it does have its drawbacks (like the ability to wear french cuffs with the watch on). However, the Milgauss scratches very easily, so if that is the kind of thing that will bother you,I would stay away. But much like everyone else says, you can't go wrong either way. Word of warning though, if you wear the Milgauss and are around kids a lot, be prepared to hear them call it the Harry Potter watch, it has happened to me no less than 10 times.

Many thx dsd, tassos, and bakerb22 for your thoughts. Leaning towards the deepsea right now, will make the final decision by this weekend. The green crystal milgauss is intriguing and provokes the imagination (as per the harry potter comments), but I worry that the novelty will wear off after some time, whereas the deepsea would remain a classic design. Not looking to have the one watch serve both dress watch and sporty watch roles; think that the deepsea would be more comfortable in use as a sporty watch than the milgauss in a sporty watch or dress watch role.
In any case, i'm going to sleep on it for a couple more days and then pull the trigger. Will let you gents know what i end up doing.
