Rolex

Hello All,

I sent this watch in for the spa treatment and came back rather nice looking....

I really don't know too much about it but it was not working too well when I bought it and now it runs like a charm and even has sharp edges on the lugs...

Any info on this watch would be greatly appreciated.

A TT Explorer ? Is that a ref. 6298  ?

The reference number is 5501

It all has something to do with a Canadian version of this watch not being shipped to any other country...

not exactly the same watch, but pretty close:

First launched in 1952 with the reference 6098, this Ref. 6298 is the third Explorer series produced between 1953 and 1955. This model is extremely rare because it features a yellow gold reeded bezel, a yellow gold Oyster crown and an honeycomb dial in perfect condition.
