Oh man. I love these older Explorers. And yours looks amazing.
I recently flirted with a full set 1016 but wasn’t willing to pay the asking price after getting some feedback from a certain maybe-vampire who most generously offered his learned opinion on the matter at hand (wrist?).
While I don’t have a huge collection, I’ve thought that I could be happy with an older Explorer and the “neo-vintage” 114270 I bought new. For now.
Some think of thinning one’s collection as purging. I prefer to think of the process as distillation.

The gloss dial vintage Explorer is a rare watch and this one has the full set from the original owner. As you can imagine it gets used only occasionally, but I would definitely recommend getting one if you have the opportunity.
