White gold. I do not own many white gold watches, in fact (unless I’m forgetting something) this is one of only two I own or have ever owned.
With the bracelet, the iconic President, there’s plenty of weight in this 36mm package to give one that heft on the wrist that is sometimes appealing. Admittedly in recent years I’ve leaned much more towards lightness on the wrist with several bracelet watches I own.

Hard to argue against a Day Date.
I aspire to own another one some day. But one less precious, a true every day DD.
It’s an interesting one for me.
I’ve mentioned here before that I’m generally not a fan of roman numerals on watch dials as nine times out of ten I feel they give the watch too much of a “dated”vibe. But here, it works for me. And I think it’s the fact that the numerals are printed not applied.

For my wrist the DD is close on perfect I think.
The bracelet adds some heft, and visually makes it wear a little larger than the diameter would suggest. I have a few other 36mm Rolex but this one is the star for sure.
Yes, DD is truly timeless. Well, except the jigsaw DD, that one might possibly look like “ah, the early 2020s, that crazy watch market” 😂
Yes indeed, this was the 1970s. Hair might have been big, watches most certainly were not !
