I’m not that active over on this forum in terms of posting, but that is not to say Rolex has not been (or is not) a large part of my collecting.
The Day Date has always been a big attraction for me. Size is perfect at 36mm, and wrist presence is aided by the weight precious metals bring (white gold in this case).
Before the Day Date market went a little nuts I was very keen on adding a stone dial to the line up. But perhaps I spent too much time trying to find a white gold variant and passed on many great yellow gold examples at what now seems like good levels.
Fortunately I do have this guy. A “Buckley dial”, in a really appealing blue. I generally hate romans on dials but for some reason the “Buckley dials” are the exception.
Any other Day Dates here? Or Buckley dials? Please share.
Hopefully something which shows it’s age.
I guess these dials have less opportunity to age in the way typically associated with old Rolex.

I’ve thought of grabbing a Buckley DJ to make a nice pair. And the white dial might be my favourite.

Not often seen. Which could mean many things with thinking vintage Rolex.
The same dial I’ve seen on a Date Just too, I’m almost certain. And this dial I’ve seen on YG Presidents too. In fact, I think there was one here at some point.

That is mint ! I think the 36mm coloured gold (rose, yellow) is a power watch if there ever was one.
But, because of the smaller size I also think it’s an easier one to wear. I’ve tried the modern 40mm DD, too much gold for me to be easily worn.

...my wife's uncle wears one. He's had it for decades and it's got a patina I can't explain. Yellow gold...the thing just glows. 36mm and classy AF as the kids say.
