I've been looking at the Rubber B option for my 116520 (Black dial) but I was wondering if there's a tasteful way (and good company) to install a nice black or brown leather strap. Has anyone looked into this? Thanks!
Rubber B nor Everest offers leather for the stainless steel version - only the gold versions. Since mine is the 116520 stainless steel it seems those two companies only offer a rubberized strap. But I'd love to discover if anyone has successfully installed a leather strap on their stainless steel Daytona. Best, Robert
I'm not capable of doing the leather and hardware work myself. Is there a company that specializes in this type of work and has a history of satisfied customers? Many thanks! Best, Robert
Wouldn't any 20mm leather strap on regular spring bars fit the watch? There's no end of good strap makers out there, from Camille Fournet and Jean Rousseau on down.
Sorry I stated my question badly. I didn't want to be limited to the options from Rubber B and Everest only - but wasn't sure what other options were out there that people used on their stainless steel Daytonas. Many thanks!
I asked about this awhile ago regarding the 116500...

...that I was waiting for as a present for my son. He isn't a big bracelet fan so I wanted to get him the watch with a leather strap. It turns out that now that he has it he loves the bracelet, but sometimes I think it might be nice to give him an option. What I don't understand is Rolex not offering every bracelet (except for maybe mixing metals) for every watch. It sounds like it would be very popular, and if Rolex offered an OEM version people like me would pay a bit more to have the real deal. It's called 'revenue' and it shouldn't be tough to figure out.
Now that I've looked around I see many after market strap makers

However, the vast majority of the leather strap makers do NOT have a curved end - instead they only offer straight ends - which results in the dreaded 'mail slot' horizonal space between the case and the spring bar. Does this spoil the look (that mail slot empty space) or is it not a big deal?
