Just arrived and now waiting (hoping?) to become part of my collection.

My first impression: this 44mm tool watch doesn’t feel too big on my small but “Panerai-proven” wrist (16,5 - 17 cm).




What do you think?

I have the same size wrist and wore one for a while, traded it for something else but liked it a lot...Jim

The Deepsea has always attracted me magically. But every time I tried this piece (first version 116660) I refused because of the much too narrow bracelet and the shape of the lugs. The watch felt very top-heavy and ... unstable and .... yes ... uncomfortable on my wrist.

These and other small flaws have been improved with the 2018 launched successor 126660. Now it fits my wrist much better. I am very close to pull the trigger...

I have not seen it in real yet but own the SD Anniversay, so I can Imagine it is a mega watch 👍

I also had the chance to try the Sea Dweller 50th anniversary.

The Deepsea felt significantly more massive. So the new improvements especially of the bracelet and the lugs are essential for me.

the SD Anniversary and the Deepsea.

I am thinking of the the new TT-Version and therefore also tried the TT Submariner black dial to get an idea how TT feels.

At the end the Deepsea Cameron attracted me the most.

really nice and not as big. Just thick but one gets used to it and it is very versatile. Works well on a suit and of course casual too !

I was not sure at the beginning because so many watch enthusiasts find this watch too big and bulky.

When I tried the new 126660 I didn’t have this feeling at all. Still smaller than a 47mm Panerai (which I wear quite often) and total wearable for me.

So size is relative. Also in this case 😎.

I am going to fetch the Cameron from my AD on Wednesday. Decision made! ☺️

I have to confess I like the SD Anniversary very much from the pictures I have seen. But in flesh the Deepsea attracted me more.

I personally struggle to take seriously the SD Anniv. as it is clearly a product conceived by marketing researchers with the sole aim to differentiate the product from the Submariner and drive sales, negating its glorious past in the process.
The deep sea is a technical beast, as any serious SD should be, first and foremost. Hence, the respect.

I definitely share your opinion.

And what made/makes me sure with the new Deepsea is, that Rolex seems to have done everything right with the improvements of the successor presented in 2018:
The new caliber 3235 with 70 hours PR, the smaller lugs, the wider bracelet, the longer seconds and minutes hands etc.
