IWC

My thanks to IWC, Valiram Group and Swiss Watch Gallery Malaysia for extending a kind invite to this most exciting event last night. For a change, the guests had a chance to leave the city of Kuala Lumpur and have a good time aboard the Lili Marleen, a 250 foot yacht docked at Port Klang. It was a sunset cruise out to some local islands where along the way, guests were privy to viewing the IWC Portuguese Yacht Club while having a fine time.

We were given the chance to either drive directly to the port or take the coach from JW Marriott and I had chosen the latter option. Once everyone was aboard, we embarked on the 1 hour journey...





The Lili Marleen was already waiting for us at the dock.









Once on deck, guests took the opportunity to familiarize, partake in the activities and socialize.











There was a casino on board (no photos though) and also a couple of caricature artists.



I took the chance to walk around and explore the fine boat and the scenery. It did not take long for the boat to be teeming with people.

As it was not conducive to take photos of the watches during the event last night, I decided to drop by the KL IWC boutique to take some quick shots of the Yacht Club as well as some other novelties. My thanks to IWC's Jeffrey, Fehriz and Shiro for their kind assistance and hospitality.

The boutique itself was renovated a couple of months back with some beautiful embellishments...

Thanks for the nicely covered and edited coverage of the "luxury" Yatch Club event so called.

IWC being so great and it's at it;s top of the limelight but unfortunately still do not stand to  have a place in this forum for so many working years.Sincerely deep down my heart since i joined this forum years back till now,relentless waiting but it is still desprately empty..........

It's not a matter of justifiable or not but merely for the sake of interest and passion we "fans" have in this brand and heart sicking to have some many empty years waiting.......

Juat my thoughts and feel.

The event looks smashing and any time spent on a luxury boat at sea during nice weather is grand indeed!  My favorite of the watches you photographed is the boutique edition Aquatimer.  I love the orange and white color combo.

....well, at least in Malaysia, it is.

A 250-ft yacht with full sail rigging and auxiliary power unit?!? Unreal!  But there it is!

So there is 'watch life' again in Malaysia; we were worried that it has been so quiet on the Malaysian front for 2 years.

It was getting repetitive with the recent boutique openings at the new casino resorts in Singapore and luxury push into China.

 

The IWC Yacht Club looks like a nice simple watch to start off with in the surface marine theme.  The airmen have had it so good for a long time with the various pilots' watches and the divers also.

The Yacht Club is indeed refreshing. I think it's a lovely and refreshing but understated piece that goes well with most occasions.

However, as for the recession, I think it's still there for us over here. Yes, Malaysia has been rather quiet on the event scene in recent times and I believe it's going to be a trend still. An event of this level is quite a rarity!

The ship set sail around 7.30pm iirc but we only disembarked back at the port around 12.30am.

Is this the first IWC watch launch on a yacht in Malaysia?

The Valiram Group to market the IWC brand in Malaysia! I was one of the attendees on the cruise and I must say the entire event was well organized filled with good fun! I think KT did a fine coverage of the event and really put the entire evening in good pictures. I hope we get more coverage of what's happening on our shores so the watch industry have a better representation of Malaysia, instead of thinking we're online scammers and thieves.
