…. from 1979. The calibre 8541 ES is the most accurate of all my vintage watches.
Due to this ref. turning out to be (back then) a total commercial failure, production stopped after 543 pieces ….

That dial texture completely disappeared in the last photo! And I like the date disc's font and color! Hope to see this one in the flesh someday!

Although the remake of the Da Vinci line nearly made me cough blood. Besides... (and I say this jokingly) their new CEO, Christoph Grainger-Herr, is so good looking (I mistook him for a movie star, after that I thought he was a famous politician) that hopefully he's more aesthetically inclined and won't let a mistake like the 2017 SIHH launch of the Da Vinci models happen again. That wasn't under his watch (no pun intended), so it's not his fault, he came in shortly after. But hopefully only good things from here on out.
Now that is what I call a discovery!
It would be interesting to see if they do a reissue this or consign this to history (at least for the time being).
