How sensuous with its plexy, its leaf hands, the round dots and the heated blue power reserve and second hands.
And at that time, in the early 2000's, a 7 Days Power Reserve was not that common!

Always been struck by this one
Having both sub dials for. Seconds and power reserve balances out the watch. Then there's the caseback with a view of the movement that fills the whole case.

I love this one.
It's the only 7-day Portuguese I really want.
Anyone's comments on how it wears would be appreciated! It's definitely big for my taste, but you never know...
I have always loved this IWC.
Would love to see one in the metal some day, but from the scans it is fantastic. Everything about it works.

It’s frustrating that IWCs first effort aesthetically was IMO their greatest effort
I’m probably in the minority in saying that I also prefer/enjoy the plexi over sapphire. The movement in the following Portuguese 7 Days have been improved over time so there perhaps is reason to purchase a newer generation over the ref 5000, but if I could have a Portuguese this would most certainly be the one.
Same for me, same minority here. I love the plexy version. And these round dots.
