She has arrived today!!
And thank God she is in excellent condition.
The Watch is NOS (new, never worn). However, it has been stored for 15 years.
The box is in bad condition, but all papers exist.
Usually I don't do that (to buy on suspicion).
I saw this watch many years ago and otherwise only know pictures from the Internet.
But I had the opportunity to try the second generation of the Da Vinci in SS last week. So I knew that the dimensions fit perfectly. The case of the 3754 is 2.5 mm larger than it’s predecessor model 3750 (41,5 mm vs. 39 mm), which I had owned in white gold and unfortunately sold.
I have to say that the 3754 with its beautiful blue dial is much nicer than on the pics that can be seen on the Internet.
I almost fell from my seat when I removed the hundreds of protective covers from the watch.
Only now I realize how much I have missed my first Da Vinci. The legibility and the size of the Platinum case are much better with the second generation. No, that's an understatement, the readability and feeling on the wrist are really excellent! And it has a perfect mix of functions (Perpetual Calendar + Chrono Rattrapante).
The watch works perfectly so far. But to be on the safe side, I've already made an appointment for tomorrow with a watchmaker I trust, who will put the watch through its paces.
I want to make sure that the lubricants and seals, as well as the movement, work perfectly.
So the honeymoon phase starts again. 😉
I am not sure if I should swear again, that this would be my last acquisition for a very long time....

The 3754's dial is the exact opposite.
But I have rarely seen anything so harmonious, perfectly coordinated. And the readability is perfect.

At the moment I love to play with the rattrapante mechanism. Even if the lighting conditions are not ideal at this time.

Yes, I was very lucky with the condition of the watch. I was able to convince myself yesterday that it looks like new from the outside. Now I know from my AD‘s master watchmaker that the inside of the watch is in perfect condition, too. Despite 15 years of storage. The amplitude is reportedly excellent and only a small amount of lubricants had to be added. The seals are also completely intact. Hard to believe after such a long time....

I also bought my IWC Minute Repeater in Milano.
However, I was actually there in November last year.
This time regarding the Da Vinci it was a different dealer and the transaction took place via C24 without personal direct contact.
But you are right. It is noticeable that two of my most important watches are now from IWC and both come from Milano...

It must mean something! ;-)) In fact, let me "confess" that one of my favorite watches also comes from Milano, and according to Google Maps the two ADs are exactly 150 meters away from each other! ;-)

I like this area very much and know it quite well. For a while I was there twice a year. Starting from Via Gesù and our favorite hotel, the Four Seasons (located in a former monastery), my wife and I explored the area there.
Last year in November I went back after a couple of years and found Via Monte Napoleone very different. Incidentally, the wonderful restaurant Sant Ambroeus is also nearby, and you will probably know it well. I went there last November to celebrate the acquisition of my IWC MR.
Incidentally, I didn't find my two IWCs in the IWC Boutique. "My" two dealers are pretty hidden away from this shopping area, but one of them is about 15 minutes away from Via Monte Napoleone.

No others noticed the Da Vinci, so it goes to the owner who desire it the most.
I had the same, but in a shorter time period.
IWC almost made it for you only, than only you.
I can call it the IWC MTR.

I have regretted selling my 3750 for over 15 years. A few years later I made up my mind to make up for my mistake.
However, I didn't want to buy the same watch anymore, because my Ex-Da-Vinci had a very special serial number and I couldn't have endured a deviation from it. I also had a few problems with the legibility of the 3750. so I longed for an update and improvement.
At this time, I didn't know anything about this platinum version. I first detected this model on the internet about five years ago.
And it took until yesterday before the opportunity arose to hold exactly this dream model in my hands in perfect, new condition.
A long journey with a happy ending.
