I don't know... I sense that my PAM journey maybe coming to an end... I keep wanting to stop buying...

2011 SIHH got me going again, 375, 376, 382, 372... Well but after a tale of 2 cities... it may just end

I bet I can come up with a hundred reasons why you shouldn't stop.

it's crazy... how I keep buying the same watch over and over and over again to EVERYONE who's not into PAM... they can no longer tell the diff. However, buying 2 of the same watches with a diff caseback means I am pretty ridiculous already...

If you want, we can start a support group to help you deal with your problem.

I am sure that everyone will pitch in with sound advice.

Ever think of buying just one or maybe two PAM's a year?

Anthony, I m too puni and wussy for it... here's a WUSSY shot of me in a watch which everyone made big fun of me... and I also laughed it off...



I went to work with this and everyone said I should just use a chain to chain it on my neck... afterall, I don't have the expendables ARMS...



And I am debating... it's still too big...

but I m thinking maybe I should get a 375/376... or 372... or should I ? I have the 127... but now I seldom wear it my wrist is too pencil like...

Don't tempt me pls... the 2011 SIHH is already killing me and I am saying that a tale of 2 cities will be my last pieces.

2011's stellar lineup will have me going for one more year till 2012 when I say stop... but this year they have
the best.

2011 is the most spectacular year for PAM to me with 372, 375, 376, 382 encompassing the best of PAMs and leveraging of the best histories and legacy of the brand. They make a re edition of a 372 6152 homage come true and they also remember to innovate like Bronze 382 green face (very modern looking with vintage... mod retro like an oxymoron) and Composite 386, 375. So this year encompasses VINTAGE (373, 376, 372...) and NEW AGE (386, 375). Yes best of time, and yes worst of time... it's like APPLE, they keep rolling out good products but you always wonder, then 2012, what will they do?

I must say 2011 is the best year for a long while... 2010's show was stopped only by 339... all else... yes and no... but 2011 SIHH has many YES pieces to me, 376, 372, 382, 375 are most notable to me.

When you have done so well, it's hard to do it OTT again... and I worry for sister's JLC and IWC next to PAM, now that phone is ringing non stop PAM, budget all out, wallet all emptied... no one will allocate budget for IWC portugese yacht club or big pilot boutique edition (actually I was gonna get the BP blue numerals Shanghai edition)... bummer.

So far, I actually quite like my Torpedo basic series... value for money too and simple.

horofatigue as it is known. do you collect other makes? why not just turn away from PAM for for at least a short while.

B&R, AP and Rolex and Patek... they all kindda left me...

PAM stuck and the magic is there but waning... Yes it's time to walk away... most people don't even care and notice what timepieces others have and honestly, how many of us truly tell time using a WRIST WATCH... we are with our bb, ip and computer so much every day that it is hardly a necessity to wear it. It's more for self satisfaction rather than practicality. I absolutely don't see practicality in wiping dusting and winding my watches... the feeling that it's a drag to wind my watches make me cringe now... I say I am TOO OLD FOR THIS Sxxx

A good purist mate of mine now in same state as you, depending on life cycles, you will swing out of it in due course. Once horology footprints is embedded in the brain, it doesn't go away. Manage the cycles, and return to seek greater horological heights.

I would seriously hope that you are wrong this time... no problem is I want it to end... unless my pocket is deeper than that of a mortal but it certainly isn't the case, my money is hard earned and it didn't grow on trees that's the problem and slavery to a brand that churns out similar models to most laymens is really killing me... 2011 SIHH is gonna empty my wallet. I actually wanna limit myself to one piece. It maybe a tepid 375.

And that we are all bound to be slaves of Panerai, as long as our desires will it to be!

Well, when you finally come face to face with them in reality, we'll see how much you can control your credit card or not, for others such as me we have to face reality, you know.

I'm probably getting all but one this year.

OK I will alleviate the itch by just a vintage strap by OEM PAM. The new PAM straps on the bt SE, 339 and 360 are superb to me. I used to enjoy aftermarket but I am back to PAM. They make good straps. Delicate and nice. Are they made in Austria? I like 339's and eons beyond that cheap strap on my 292 and old 111. The LE on boutique vintage are good. I used to like JV on 127 but it looks like many good straps on new pieces like 382.

Yes they are made in Austria, and are very good quality for their watches.

why put on aftermarket BBS rims on your Ferrari when you can have originals... silly. The new vintage straps have nice vintage patina from fine tanneries.

Anthony is right, time to go 47mm. As they say on Paneristi. 47mm is the new 44mm.

There were days when my old man's dress watch was 38-39 and was still considered sporty as patek were coming in in the 36-38 range.

I wonder... 47 maybe the new 44 just like 20 is the new 10 with kids these days

I do realize that my 44mm are fairly NORMAL these days and would not considered to be oversized like they used to 12 years ago. Honestly, I think 44m is the minimum standard for a dress watch or any watch and for casual it is a tad on the small side. Seroiusly... when you see ladies with watches the size of 50 mm... I know a petite girl wearing a watch way beyond my 127. I think 47-48mm is standard and 50 is on its way... look at all the AP ROO... the old ones non Arnold's LE or Shaq are tiny to me now.
