Hi guys,
Got some stupid questions but I think many owners who have PVD coated Pams will be suffered from saying if the coated PVD got scratched or dents on it, what we could do?
Q1: Does Panerai service center offer any kinds of repairment? Coz I know we could try to ask for help from those aftermarket PVD service from 3rd parties.
Q2: Is there any reliable 3rd parties you guys recommended?
Q3: Would you send your pam to get it repaired if yours were a Pre-V one? (Stay in Original is a key rule no matter what happened on the PVD coat? )
Thks

if your case got scratched through the coating you will have to replace the case by OP, or have it completely stripped of to the metal and have it recoated by some specialised firms.
In case of a pre-V i'd surely let not handle it anyone else but OP together with your specific mentioning of what you want them to do to the case.
In general the PVD coating is rather strong, I know of people wearing them every day since 2003 (PAM 195) and it still looks good.
1) Panerai doesn't "repair" PVD cases because stripping the PVD and then re-PVD'ing is a huge pain in the butt, so they simply replace the entire case.
2) Never used any so can't recommend. Plus, mentioning any 3rd parties is against our non-commercial guidelines, so if anyone has recommendations, please send only by PM.
3) Nope. Keep original as possible.
Cheers,
Anthony
It adds some character to the watch, don't you think?
This one didn't the Safe air too much!
As for your questions:
1/ No.
2/ No.
3/ It depends: I had a very bad experience with the Swiss Service Center, but an excellent one with the French Service Center.
Best,
Nicolas
