The Panerai PAM339 brown ceramic is smoking hot though! I bet many people here have their names on the list already.
Cheers,

Hi Nacho,
short of the Pope, I've contacted everybody that might give me a chance at getting this beauty. On the other hand, if all the people I asked to "book one for me" could deliver it, I would go broke....
That ain't happening. The current estimate is early Summer.

I wonder if that means Panerai already has customers on the waiting list for the first 1,000 and increased the total to 1,500 at that point. I also wonder if Panerai won't do another brown on brown watch at some point.,
One thing I really think helps this watch is the way the dial is balanced, I think moving the seconds sub-dial in a little at the 9:00 position allowing for number hour markers at 3,6, 9 and 12 really helps this dial. While the 8 Giorni logo at the 3:00 probably does not mean that much at least for this particular watch, I think it also helps the balance of the dial.
That said the 292's are really nice looking watches and I have to admit that I am torn between this 339 in brown with the use of the tonal treatment for the hour markers as compared with the black and white of the 292's. I actually think the tonal treatment of the numerals on the 339 makes the watch. I really wonder if those of us that are attracted to it would like the brown if the hour markers were in standard white. That also makes me wonder if the 339 will hold our interest over time. In my case I never know until I actually have the watch in my hand.
Is there another Pam using the tonal treatment on the hour markers? Thought I would see if there is another I could look at just to see if the hour markets have the same impact on a color other than brown.
or a similar model(s) w/ the same brown composite. In fact, I expect them to so I would not be at all surprised to see more at SIHH 2011 and on. I would be very surprised if Panerai didn't.
