Hey there!
Great you have found us!
Well, those two choices you are looking at are great, and for me, i'd always still stick to my values though and get only 47mm for my 1st and only Panerais, the ONLY historically correct watches of which is a big part of me loving this brand.
Cheers from a fellow indo

Like what amanico said above, a Destro Panerai would fit better as a 2nd Panerai or later addition IMO.

)))))would be a good to kick start and warm you up. They are manual wind and if you prefer automatics, the 312 with 3 day power reserve in-house movement would be great too.
It is difficult to choose amongst so many models but everyone is unique on its own, imho, although they are looked the same as what my wife says..lol...
Cheers,
.here is mine. Get a 249. The Cali (it also has its name) is a 47mm, with super historical Panerai DNA, rare enough to feel "great" when you wear it...
Cheers - Sergio
Cali is the one that I would get if the price is right,
well, lets see how the market goes, and wait for the right time,
perhaps, 249 and 372 are my favorite modern pannies,
will have to wait for 372 I suppose,
thanks for your sound advice Sergio
cheers,
