Officine Panerai

Hello everyone,

I'm new to the craze in Panerai's and wanted to know the difference between the "lettered series" as I'm just assuming it's a year by year thing in descending order from A through K (2008).

If I am wrong, please correct me.  If I am right, my next question would be how do you "really" tell a true Panerai from the F Series if it's offered at a 2nd hand shop outside of Authorized Panerai dealers.  Is there a site that you can register the watch like you can w/ Patek's?

no letter=1997; A=1998; B=1999 etc.

There is no mechanism to register your watch, but you can try to post details here including pictures of dial and movement and you will get some good opinions. Best is to make sure you are buying from a reputable shop and nevertheless - that they have a guarantee including a refund option. It would be a good idea to have pictures taken AT the shop itself.

I appreciate the feedback as I'm glad about the letters being the years.

I have a few different shops that I purchase from so I'm pretty sure that the certificate will come along as well.
