The Marina Militare did receive 100 of the 140 202/A's produced, but not officers only. There are other pieces that were delivered to some famous Navy VIPs and to some ex-Panerai people. Eventually most of them found their way to the market but some military active service divers still have theirs. The official watch of the MM and the Comsubin has changed over the years and, of course, is no longer made by Panerai.
There was a story behind the MM PAM 217 that Panerai 'forgot' to get approval from the MM, but don't know if there is any truth behind it
