Just look at the dial lay-out...Perfect harmony...Minute counters placed more to the centre of the ring where all other brands use the outer ring...Balance? You better believe it..

 

Beautiful thick case..Yes I know I have mentioned this before but mama mia..... just look at the dimensions.....

 

Naturally a nice thick strap makes it look more hefty, not that this baby needs it but hey!.....me love thick straps.........

Totally agree with byou on the fact that Panerai never released a nicer Chrono than this Mare...

Unfortunately the old Panerai only produced a few pieces before the takeover in 1997 but man...each and every watch they made...they made with the utmost perfection..Design wise...The Italians are the best.........They made it very, very difficult for the Richemont group to produce anything that can come close to these pieces...It´s no surprise their hottest models are those wich are most historically correct..I wonder why they ever changed the PreV font as can be seen on their first release (Cartier) in 1997 of the PreA series....The depth and patina of these dials are out of this world....Why change perfection?

A stronger look, more balenced, purer...

All the difference between Pre Vendome and Vendome, between the guys who created, and the guys woh cpied, or at least, were inspired...

Not sure about the bestial quality that Nicolas is citing - especially when used in the same sentence as 'sexy appeal' eeck! hahaha - but totally agree with the symmetry and simplicity in design of the Mare, which makes it one of those rare things in life that looks increasingly better each time you gaze at it.
