looked at both yesterday and by the way they are quite stunning in person. will the 243 be more sought after because of the 1950 case? is it worth 2k more than the 24? looking foward to hearing some opinions.

I will say that if the 243 is still with tritium indexes, I'd go o the 243 rather than the 24...
But if you let me choose between a 24 A/B or C, with the smooth bezel, and the tritium indexes, I'd rather go on the 24...
And even more, if you let me the choice between all the Subs, I'd go on a Pam 64, the 1st 1000 meters Sub!
To come back to your answer why a 243 over a 24 in the J series?
Not only because of the tritium on the 243 ( if ever there is still tritium on J series;, what I have some doubts...), but also because of the case, the glass, the overall look of the 243...
A real bad boy, not very esthetic, but quite pleasant to look at...
But, noce again, the King of the Bad Boy subs is the ...64!

between this two, the 243 will be my pick. You can enjoy its 1950 Panerai well-known case and tritium indexes. If you love the 24, try to get the A, B, or C series as they all have polished bezels which make them look more special and fantastic.

I also support all Nicolas' point of views...the 64 La Bomba is my ultimate sub Panerai's ever made.

Unfortunately I can't find the 64, so I settle down with this one instead...

I never really liked the look of the 24 cause of the polished bezel.  I think I only like brushed finish on a submersible.

In terms of whether or not the 243 will be more sought after than the 24 or vice versa, I don't believe either watch will be "sought after", so in terms of investment potential, these 2 probably have a low probability of increasing in value IMO.
