Officine Panerai

Hi guyz!! Im quite new here and need some advise.  Im going to San Francisco next month and was just wondering whether would it be a good idea to hunt for any Panerai rare piece/special editions there or should I just  wait at my regular AD here in Malaysia?? I have the impression that these special editions are hard to come by and the waiting list is so long.. If yes, any advice or recomendations?

I know of three PAM ADs here in the SF Bay Area. Make that two, but one of them has two locations.  I've been hunting for a 249 for a while, but the wait list at the dual location AD is at least 10 deep. The other AD won't put anyone on a waiting list, nor will he call to let anyone know a 249 has come in. So it's a crap shoot as far as I can tell. That said, I've also been shown some other LEs at both ADs. So you just never know. I'd suggest stopping in at any and every watch shop you have time to visit. You never know what'll turn up in the pre-owned sections of non-Panerai dealers. And while there's only one PAM AD that I know of in the city itself, many of the other shops are within walking distance of each other.

Thanks for the info Dom!! Will definitely check that out and i'll be staying around the SF Bay Area!! Thats just awesome and ill pray to God for some nice pieces.  Speaking of PAM 249, there was one piece that I came across the other day in KL.  The dealer said it was sold the second it arrived at the boutique.  My God, there are so many of us out there!!

If you venture to Carmel from SFO, there are at least 2 other AD's there.  Carmel is about 90 minutes away but a pretty little town - great for walking around and if you love art - tons of art galleries..  They are open on Sunday's too.  

If you head to Stanford, CA - I know of 1 place (Palo Alto) also an AD and they have a branch in SFO.

Panerai move fast around here..I live in this area but got mine in Singapore.
