Pam 22B
Hi, I have come across a PAM22B T dial. Everything I have read seems to indicate that an OP6522 case should be an L dial and not a T dial. The B number is around 150/500 so early in the B Series. Can anyone shed light on when T became L and thus legitimise this model. Thanks in advance.
The T dials were....
outlawed in year 2000. The PAM22 is one of the models that were "caught" unawares, by this new reality. There are both 22BT and 22BL out there. I had both of them (unfortunately my old PC crashed and some of the pictures crashed with it). The only thing I can't tell you (since the information was not made available) is...how many 22TT were manufactured and of course how many 22BL. In the picture below (salvaged on Imageshack) of all my "lefties", the 22BT is the second from left and the 22BL is the second from the right.
P.S. The T dials continued to be used on the Submersible line, long after year 2000, only because they were classified as "professional diving instruments" and all the components had to remain unaltered.

I have a breitling superocean which i bought a long time ago and somehow still does it for me as a dive watch. Pam subs just don’t have the beauty of luminors or radiomirs. Personal taste.

For the info Sergio. Seems one of those models that straddled the changeover from T to L. As long as you don’t eat the Tritium its safe or so I read. Looks like you had/have a 117 there which is also a beautiful piece. I am surprised you decided on a PAM123.......it is an interesting layout on the dial. Certainly unique.

my knowledge about the Panerai production at the time was, virtually non existent and after having consulted the data base at my disposal, I started buying all the ones I knew. When I though I was..almost there...I discovered two models which killed the whole project: PAM239 and PAM358. These are 2 limited edition Submersible, made for Chrono Passion Paris. I..detest..the Submersible line and immediately lost almost all interest in the collection. To turn the..almost..into NEVER was the price of the 2 abominations. The asking price, at the time, was
USD 15,000 each!!! End of the collection..hahaha The 219 is not in the picture because I decided to sell it and keep only the discontinued models. Unfortunately by the time I "discovered" the abominations I had already bought the irresistible 123

I think most of us have an entry point into Panerai which matures overtime. I know I do. One cannot look at Panerai in the same way as another brand. I thought mechanical complication was the way to go, but turns out it is beauty in simplicity......the 123 became the 112 “par example”......

It has a 6504 case. There seems to be many Google search results of 22BTs with 6522s
