This one is lightly seared. Photo size cropped. No other editing or photoshopping. (By now you will have realised that I struggle to use photoshop so I avoid it whenever possible). All photos taken with a macro capable lens.

That last one with the sun glinting off the edge of the bezel is one of the best watch pictures I've ever seen....really well done

High praise indeed. Just between you and me, that last shot started out as a wristshot but after about 10 goes I still couldn't get it right and then it dawned on me to hold the watch instead to get that angle right.

It certainly turned out well. I hope you're one of the judges.

Having once owned a Sport Evo and as a current owner of a brand I know you like (UTS), I was wondering if you had any thoughts or observations you can share regarding the Caliber 39 movement inside the G.O. and (or "versus", I should say...) the ETA 2890 series (e.g., 2892, 2893, etc.) that often finds its way into many sport divers.

Hey DB, I keep meaning to respond to your PM (is it enough to say that I LOVE UTS?), but life always intrudes, as they say. Anyway, to answer your question, I feel that the ETA 2892 family of movements compares quite favorably to the cal. 39 in terms of accuracy and durability (indeed, I feel that this particular movement compares well with a host of in-house movements, including the venerable 3135 from Rolex). Where it falls short in this instance is in terms of decoration and the mechanics of the GMT complication. For starters, the hour hand isn't quickset on the 2893, and of course GO adds push-button functionality to their caliber, which is incredibly convenient for frequent travellers. Oh, and let's not forget GO's trademark big date complication, which is the best in the business, IMO.

PS - BTW, I feel that the same applies to the ETA 2824, which may not be the most refined movement out there, but has certainly proven itself time and again to be a solid, accurate, dependable and easy to service engine.

Not to stray too off-topic here, but it's hard not to love what Herr Spinner is doing in his shop in Munich.  And for someone like me who absolutely loves his unique aesthetic, UTS watches are nothing but win.

UTS may not be close to being a match for GO in the movement game (Spinner relies exclusively on ETAs, though only top-grade variants that he adjusts and regulates himself), but he gets full points for designing, machining and assembling each and every watch that bears his imprint by himself.  If you place a value on the human touch, then his pieces are wildly underpriced.  ;-)
