Hi, it's been a while.  Senator Meissen finally arrived and I just wanted to share these with fellow GO fans.  I hope you like them!

Just love those dials!

They are both gorgeous!  It's funny, but I like the Manfredi LE better from the back, and the standard Senator Meissen better from the dial-side.  Both are fantastic, of course!  Congrats on the new acquisition.

Rose gold vs white, plain bezel vs coin edge, conventional vs onion crown, Roman vs Arabic numerals, black integrated strap vs blue, cal 100 automatic vs cal 49 manual wind, poires Stuart hands vs index . . . yet both share a common heritage, and are unmistakably derived from the same manufactory. Yes, they are similar, yet very different.  I once thought of letting one of them go, but am glad I did't.  They should stay!  Ken

I completely concur with Daos. The front of the new one with the back of the old Meissen would be a real dream.
Cal. 49 would probably be a little too small to fit in a new Senator Meissen, but well, cal. XX to come might fit well.
The Meissen is an icon of Saxonian highest level craftsmanship and to me - call me old fashoned, if you like - it cries out for a manual wound movement.
And be it only make the happy owner care about this treasure deliberately once a day.

Every time I get the chance to see one I almost cannot believe that there are people at the Meissen manufacrure who are able to paint the dial by hand.
But surely there are. That is simply amazing!

If the Senator Meissens have been numbered consecutively, your watch # 828 is the proof that the Senator Meissen has been a very, very big success.
And it means that the dial painter - as far as we know it is only one person - has done a tremendous job.

Something about the porcelain dials that make it very soothing to look at, nostalgic...something. I can't quite place my finger on it.

being a porcelain fan as well as a watch fan these really speak to me. i prefer the smooth bezel, the manual wind movement and either colour would suit me although i'd probably go for the white metal as i have lots of red/yellow gold.

a lovely duo, but how do you decide which one to wear?
