Hello,

A few months ago, I inquired about availability in white metals.  The answer was not encouraging back then.  But quire recently, a good friend of mine - Scott D. - let me know about this and it arrived yesterday.  I was so excited and I woke up this early to share this with you. 
I can't tell you how happy I am with this.  Meissen - huge fan of Meissen in general.  White Gold - in line with my other collections.  Perfect.  Sure, it could be nicer if it has second hand, power reserve, etc.  But the more you see it, the more this simplicity makes sense.  Thank you, Nicole @ Manfredi.  Thank you Scott, thank you Art, and thank you everyone.  Let me know what you think!

PS: one question.  How do you know that you have wound to the end?  For now, the winding just gets harder and harder, but no "stop" point yet.  I am used to Lange winding...

. . . a happy Fourth of July. Fabulous photos, btw, that clearly show the hand-painted porcelain dial, and I'm glad to see that G O has chosen to fit the watch with both a deployant and a thickly padded strap; I can appreciate elegance of design, but a nod towards utility is welcome, too. The classical formula of a relatively slender watch equipped with a thin strap and buckle isn't as practical for constant wear, which I'm sure your Meißen will surely get. Be assured that there is a stopping point for the cal 49 manual winding movement, and please don't overwind it accidentally, as it will be going right back to Glashütte if you do :-(. Personally, I think the formula for this design is just perfect - I wouldn't burden it with a complication of any kind, and while I would love to see a Senator Sixties equipped with a three-handed version of the cal 49, I feel that in this configuration the minimalist two-handed approach is more natural and pleasant . . . cordially, Art

I have never seen this model before. I love it!
The cal. 49 is, in my opinion, the movement with the highest proportion of handcrafted and finished parts made by GO.
Together with the Meissen dial it's a perfect combination!

Wow Ken that was fast.  Im so glad that you got the watch you were after, it seems like perfect timing for this watch to come out after you were looking for a white metal Meissen.  Your pictures are fabulous and show how beautiful the simplicity of how this dial and watch really are. I think think this is one of the nicest GO I have ever seen, and on of the nicest watches period.  Enjoy it in good health Ken, and I cant wait to see it in person.

do they make that variation in rose?

i like the regular one, but a manual is just better fitting with the meissen dial i think

This is a special limited edition for an AD, Manfredi in CT, for its 20 years anniversary.  I am so lucky to know about it and be able to acquire one (even with my favorite number!).  I am really grateful for having this opportunity and becoming an owner of GO.  Hoping to add some more in my collection going forward.  You guys are great!

that's really a beautiful, classic looking watch.  the catalogue photos of the porcelain go's had left me a little cold, but the simplicity of the one you have is quite compelling.

you have shared with us. I went to the same shop on last Saturday and also purchased one. Surprisingly the diameter of this watch is only 38mm, a bit smaller than the usual 1845 Klassic and other GO Meissen watches. Fortunately it fits my wrist. I also saw a 1878 Moritz Grossmann in the same shop. A very beautiful watch but I decided to give it up because of its automatic movement. Anyway, it was a short but fruitful visit to this little town of Greenwich in Connecticut!

Glad I could be of some help.  I see that you are a big fan of GO and Meissen, like me.  Automatic movement is sometimes a "turn-off" for me, too.  38mm is just about right for my small wrist, while 40mm (Senator Meissen) may be over the limit.  I realize that they do not advertise this particular model for some reason, so I guess that it is not known widely yet.  This piece is great for someone like me who prefer white metal and at the same time is a big fan of Meissen.....

Since you seem to be in the tri-state area, we may meet someday somewhere.
