there is not much to say, an unexpected, refreshing and superbly done piece from GO - if you open up a dial, do it like this!
The guillochage here is engraved into the brass dial top plate, thus is renders light completely differently than if one would engrave the same pattern in a softer metal like gold or silver.
'Excellent' automatic movement Cal. 36-02:
I had to rush out of the meeting to solve an urgent issue for the PuristS' Watch Binge, thus I could not properly clean the back side.

Really nice GO.
I'm not a huge fan of perpetual calendars, but this one definitely has appeal.
If I had to nitpick a negative, it would be the hands, especially the hour hand, which evokes an older era whereas the rest of the design is contemporary.

The first G.O. perpetual that really gives me sleepless nights.
It is modern, it is fresh and at the same time it has elegance and class.
A pity that it is again only available in white gold. In steel I would probably have insane enough to order it the moment I held it in my hand.
A missed opportunity for G.O.? That probably again depends of the point of view.
Apart from this Senator Excellence PC all of this year's novelties were steel watches. Most notably the steel version of the Senator Cosmopolite previously available in white and yellow gold only.
It may well be that the white gold limited edition was also aimed to keep up a certain balance in the novelties lineup.

Perhaps too much novelty in one package? I always worry I'll 'look at my watch the wrong way' or vice verse--and it will be the end of the affair. This watch has a lot of 'wrong look' potential. I've never loved the layout of GO perpetuals. The windows 'cut out' of the dial, as opposed to some cohesive more poetic design... but I give kudos to GO for coming up with something really STRIKING and worth a conversation. I agree strongly that this should be a steel piece. I don't feel that GO has the market position to activate most buyers to spend on gold or platinum, especially with such a super-unusual design as this. I'm a big fan of the Excellence time only from '17, and hope GO will build on that really unassailable pure design, with complications, particularly a chrono.
