London, Paris, Simplon, Venezia... Istanbul... The Legendary Blue Train, its name... Agatha Christie, Hercule Poirot... The Atmosphere, the luxury ambiance, travelling with style, taking the time to travel, enjoying the moment...
These are all the reasons why I always dreamed to take this train, since maaaaany years.
And still dreaming to do so.
A dream fed by this exhibition in Paris, which will last for more or less three months, on the Orient Express, at the Arabian World Institute, in the 5th District ( Rue Jussieu ).
A few pictures, for the moment. I will try to attend, and certainly will try to book a table there!
Best,
Nicolas
But this Orient Express is a must be, IMO.
Best, my friend.

...a colleague quit her job to work on the Orient Express. I think she stayed for 4 years. Nice dream
While not as glamorous, my friend's house is right across from the end of the line of the Victorian Goldfields Railway in Maldon. The VGR runs and maintains historic steam (and diesel) trains though the otherwise disused trainlines that run through central Victoria. His volunteering work has seen him allowed to drive a couple of trains between Maldon and Muckleford.

I was there over the weekend, and was awoken on Sunday morning by the whistle and chuff of steam....
