Hi Daos,

Yum, especially the albacore dish. I love anything with ponzu. The broiled ell looks really good too, nicely charred on the outside. I'm craving sushi now . Good thing lunch time is only an hour away and Little Tokyo is only 10 minutes away from my office

Sushi. My wife, Patti and I, just love sushi. We have it virtually weekly. The toro looked good, however, chu toro is the fattier of the two and some places in Japan have what is called, "Bin" toro, pronounced Bean Toro.

In your first shot, the tuna from Boston almost looks like what toro and chu toro is supposed to be. I can see the fat meandering throughout the entire slice.

Did that scallop from Hokaido have a light, sweet taste to it?

All your sushi looks great!

Here in Hawaii we have a restaurant called, Sushi Sasabune. Yo don't order. The chef looks at you and then makes what he thinks you'll like. NO eating with hands and NO shoyu or wasbi.

If he gives you a sauce, then that's all you need. If he doesn't brush a sauce on the sushi, then you eat it as is...otherwise he'll yell at you and may even kick you out! His sushi is very, very good. I've had some great sushi all over Japan, from Kyushu to Hokkaido and this guy's food/fish will rival anyone from Japan. To me, it is THE BEST sushi in Hawaii and has matching prices to go along with it!

It's pretty good!  I can't wait to try your Sasabune!  Yum!  The Hokkaido scallop was indeed light, delicate and sweet.  I enjoyed every bite.  I could eat sushi everyday!

Sorry to hear about your Jury Duty. We all dislike jury duty.

The place looks delicious; it's such a pity that it seems when I come to Southern California now, I feel like a tourist and I end up eating like a tourist. For shame...

It may not have the foodie street cred of San Francisco or NYC, but there is a wonderful diversity of food available here across all price ranges.
