Dear fellow Purists,
my family and I spent a lovely two weeks holiday at the French atlantic coast.
My new Omega SM 300 Diver (pre-current edition) also came with us
.
As I feel this watch really goes extremely well with sea and beach, I thought I might share some pictorial impressions with you.
This is how the beach looked like:

This is how the beach looked if you took a closer look:

This is how watch and beach combine:

What I really like about the dial design? The sidled lines, that meander snakelike.
Although nature´s lines are never that technically perfect (there hardly seems to be a completely identical pattern like there also isn´t in a snow crystal!), I cherished the dial as it reminded me of waves and beach lines.
A closeup wristshot of the dial:

You can also guess the tan I got
- there was a lot of sunshine and a really good surf, which the children and myself profoundly enjoyed.
More seaside impressions?
We went to see Europe´s largest sand dune (3 km long and up to 117 m high). You have a spectacular view - the sea underneath on the one side and the woods below you on the other. And it was pretty windy up there (tried to capture it in a photo where my cagoule is inflated, hope I´m not myself
)

Back home, we miss the sand, the sea, the surf and the warmth - only the (wind) chill went with us back home.
Hope you enjoyed the pics as much as we did our TimeOut this year,
best regards,
anaesdoc
Hi MW,
they did not snorkel where we staid; I reckon the sea is too rough and the sight might be blurred or nothing interesting to see.
I spotted a jet ski that obviously was used by the live savers who were watching the beach.
What people mostly did there: the classical surfing on the board, some surfed with impressive kites and became really fast. Many also "body-surfed" with smaller boards that you lie on and get pushed forward by the waves. I body-surfed without anything, just using my own body as a board - big fun!
Best regards,
anaesdoc
it looks very much like many of the beaches in the UK, but then as the UK was attached to europe at one time its not really surprising.
lovely beach, looks very child friendly. the Nato really suits the SMP. i wasnt sure when i first saw it, but now at the beach it works well.
best

Hi Graham,
the beach is very near to the Gironde opening into the Atlantic Ocean.
Best,

..., but nonetheless, I was quite ready to come home again.
This is in my opinion the main purpose of a vacation: to leave your home in order to like to return to it!

))..., actually I really thought of you, when we passed Paris (no kidding), but with almost 1300 km to go that day and wife and 4 kids it would not have been any fun. You know, everybody would have wanted to see the Eiffel tower, the Champs-Elysee, the Louvre... Can you imagine, they would have let me go and have a chat with a watch addicted stranger??
But, if you should pass northern Bavaria, don´t hesitate to contact me; you are welcome!
Best,
anaesdoc

But, in case of a visit, I would have to ask for your understanding again, as I do not have any beer at home!
Having grown up in a wine area, I am still not accustomed to the Bavarian beer culture (although they also grow some nice wines in Bavaria).
But probably you would also like a nice Riesling?
Best regards,
anaesdoc
