I was drooling after seeing these two pics from Ming

so I called my friend and he offered me the opportunity to hop on his lobster boat to do some work. I am happy to report that he ABR survived its sea workout!
Here are the fruits of our hard work...

The ABR is really a great utility watch. I don't worry about it one bit.
Cheers, Mike
he'll take all the help he can get!
Simple new england style of boiling the lobster in salted water. I threw in some celery, onions, and carrots for that "gourmet" touch.
Lots of herbed butter with the sweet lobster meat!
Cheers, Mike
do you like the steam condensation on the ABR crystal?
Reminds me of the show Deadiest Catch where fisherman get bounced around on the boats while fishing for Alaskan King Crab.

Lobstering is tough physical work. Plus I was a guest on the boat so I didn't work as hard as everyone else did...I just slowed them down
The industry here in Maine is pretty bad right now. You can buy lobsters off of the boat for about 2.50 a pound, wholesale for about 4.25. At one time this summer/fall it was less expensive to have lobster for dinner than beef!
Too bad I cannot ship some soft shell lobster out to you, they wouldn't survive. Less meat but much sweeter taste imho. Perhaps you'll come out this way during lobster season next year!
Regards, Mike
the lobster boat is actually quite small and we didn't go that far out.
20 degrees but felt worse because of the wind and wetness...it just brings the chill down into the bones.
My friend only lobsters part time. there are others who lobster full time like his father used too but cannot make ends meet now.
Best time to eat July-Sept, come out towards the end of september and eat lobster while watching the leaves change!
My house is your house,
Mike
I can't wait till the day I can retire so I can take off work and travel the world and hang out with friends. That reminds me, I should go buy a lottery ticket later today...
Cheers,
AT
Our door is always open for you and your family. You don't have to wait!
Best, Mike
I'm jealous...
