A summer Obon Festival, Tokyo
The evening was hot and muggy with tropic air brought up by a passing typhoon, but the crowd -- both locals and tourists -- was out in full force and having a good time.
Forgot to take photos of the food stalls, everything from takoyaki, fire-grilled yakitori to kebabs!

Aside from all the tropical humidity, the passing typhoon did make for some dramatically fast moving clouds above our heads!
W went through a couple of them when we lived there...
...along with many earthquakes. The amount of rain was unlike anything I had experienced as a California boy : )
