Speedmatser Apollo Soyuz 1975 (limited edition of 500)



Speedmaster ref. 2998-3 with Lollypop chrono-seconds hand - 1961:

2998 is just ...AWESOME.

I saw one for sale quite close to yours, with a beautiful brown bezel.

The SM 300 is splendid, too, with a bezel in great condition.

Really classic examples from the house of Omega.  I remember talking with Chuck
( Maddox) about the Speedmatser Apollo Soyuz.  He always like that edition and it was on his short list to get one day...

Your 2998 and 165.014 are also classic....

Do you wear them often ?

I used to wear my 2913 daily !!

Thank You Bill, I usually use the Apollo-Soyuz as my daily watch.
I really love it because is a speedmaster full of particularity such as:

- limited edition of 500
- stunning mission's LOGO on the DIAL
- for the first time OMEGA do not indicate "Speedmaster" on the dial
- Pushers are incredibly big, the biggest ever 5,5mm.
- a wonderful back
- the bracelet is ref. 1168 with end links 633 very similar to an OYSTER from ROLEX
- very long indexes like in 321 dials

The CK 2913 is a splendid watch!

And this model is in an awesome condition.

Will satisfy myself with a 14 755, which is not a bad watch!

The Apollo-Soyuz Test Project was the last mission in the Apollo program and was the first joint flight of the U.S. and Soviet space programs. The mission took place in July 1975.

as Nicolas has already said, the patina on the 2998 and the sm300 is superb. i love vintage Omegas as i'm sure you've already read.

i've always been a bit of a cynic about ltd edition 'mission' speedmasters, but the Soyuz is a different matter as it is a very ltd ed and an historic joining of the east and west with one aim.

i look forward to seeing more of your pieces.
